Black Forest Cake, also known as Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, is a classic German dessert that has gained popularity all over the world. This decadent cake is made with layers of chocolate sponge cake, whipped cream, and cherries, and is often decorated with chocolate shavings and more cherries on top. The cake is named after the Black Forest region in Germany, where the traditional ingredients of the cake are sourced from. Black Forest Cake is a perfect dessert for any occasion, whether it's a birthday, anniversary, or just a special treat for yourself. Its rich and indulgent flavor is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.

2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar and vegetable oil until well combined.
4. Add the milk, vanilla extract, and white vinegar to the sugar mixture and whisk until well combined.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, whisking until the batter is smooth.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
7. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
8. Once the cake is cool, use a serrated knife to slice it in half horizontally.
9. Spread a layer of cherry pie filling on top of the bottom half of the cake.
10.Place the top half of the cake back on and spread a layer of whipped cream on top.
11. Garnish with fresh cherries and chocolate shavings, if desired.
